Relax. We'll Take Care of Everything.
Dental anxiety affects nearly 1 in 3 adults. If the thought of sitting in a dental chair makes your heart race, you're not alone — and you don't have to white-knuckle through it. Our sedation options let you get the care you need while feeling completely at ease.
Is Sedation Dentistry Right for You?
If any of these sound familiar, sedation dentistry can transform your experience.
Dental Anxiety
You feel nervous, panicky, or dread dental visits. Even thinking about an appointment causes stress.
Avoiding the Dentist
It's been months or years since your last visit because anxiety keeps you from scheduling.
Sensitive Gag Reflex
You gag easily during dental work, making procedures uncomfortable for you and difficult to complete.
Long Procedures
You need extensive work done and sitting still for an hour or more feels overwhelming.
Tooth Sensitivity
Your teeth and gums are extra sensitive, and even gentle work feels intense.
Special Needs
Physical, cognitive, or sensory conditions make traditional dental visits challenging.
Your Sedation Options
Every patient is different. We offer multiple levels of sedation so you get exactly the comfort you need — nothing more, nothing less.
Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)
Mild Relaxation — Perfect for Routine Care
Nitrous oxide is a safe, mild sedative inhaled through a small mask placed over your nose. You'll feel calm and relaxed within minutes while staying fully awake and aware. The effects wear off almost immediately after the mask is removed — you can drive yourself home and return to your day with no downtime.
Ideal for:
- Mild dental anxiety
- Sensitive gag reflex
- Routine cleanings and fillings
- Short procedures
- Children and adults
Oral Conscious Sedation
Deeper Relaxation — For Anxious Patients
You'll take a prescribed sedative pill before your appointment. While you'll remain awake and able to respond, you'll experience a deep sense of calm and may not remember much of the procedure afterward. This option is ideal for patients who need a little more help relaxing than nitrous oxide alone can provide.
Ideal for:
- Moderate to severe dental anxiety
- Longer or complex procedures
- Multiple treatments in one visit
- Past traumatic dental experiences
- Strong gag reflex
Nitrous + Oral Sedation Combined
Maximum Comfort — For Complex Cases
For patients who need the highest level of relaxation in an office setting, we can combine oral sedation with nitrous oxide. This approach provides deep relaxation while you remain safely conscious throughout treatment. It's our most comprehensive sedation option and allows us to complete extensive work comfortably in a single visit.
Ideal for:
- Severe dental phobia
- Extensive treatment plans
- Patients who haven't visited a dentist in years
- Multiple extractions or implant placement
- Full-mouth restorations
What to Expect
Consultation
We discuss your anxiety level, medical history, and treatment needs. Dr. Kaur recommends the best sedation option for your situation.
Pre-Appointment Instructions
For oral sedation, you'll receive a prescription and clear instructions on when to take it. For nitrous oxide, no advance preparation is needed.
Day of Treatment
Arrive relaxed (or get relaxed once you're here). We monitor your comfort throughout, adjusting as needed. Most patients describe the experience as surprisingly pleasant.
Recovery
Nitrous oxide wears off in minutes. Oral sedation patients rest briefly in our office, then head home with their driver. Most feel back to normal within a few hours.
Haven't Been to the Dentist in Years?
You're not going to get a lecture. You're going to get a plan. We see patients every week who haven't sat in a dental chair in 5, 10, even 20 years — and every one of them tells us the same thing: "I wish I'd come sooner."
Sedation dentistry combined with our judgment-free approach means you can catch up on years of dental care comfortably, often in just a few visits. New patient specials available at both locations.
